It wouldn't have been a Silverado. The Silverado stops at the 3500 (light duty). The medium duty 4500 only comes in the C4500 (Kodiak) or the W4500 chasis.
Just checked out the chevy web site and I guess you are right. There must be some kind of illusion on the front fender to make it looks like it says silverado.
