Brake Drum Specs for Turning

Hey - who's got some info on brake drum thickness allowances? I just refinished my drums and am going to turn them this week. I need to know the factory allowance for finish turning.

ALSO: Where can I find factory colors in spray cans?

I don't know the thickness of the drum itself, but the specs measure max inside diameter as rated size + .060. (eg. 11" brake drum max diameter is 11.060", 12" max 12.060")

Hey kool. That's what I meant I guess. I'm going to turn these myself this week and needed to know the maximum dia. They were in need of being turned, so I sandblasted and painted the whole drums, and will turn a new brake surface for them.

I'm so nice to my truck.

I got my flip kit made up this week in the shop, so we'll see how that works out, once I get the rear axle on top of the springs!

Kool 4speed, I could use some inspiration about now!

No what I was saying about the factory colors was: when I sandblasted my hubs the other night, the part that the hub cover fits into (the part you have to pry off to get the cotter pin/castle nut out) was painted Goldenrod, not black, like the rest of the hub.

- It wasn't overspray
- It wasn't over any other color

It was factory yellow on that outter bearing housing! I was looking for a place that I could get some Goldenrod in a spraycan, because I don't need a quart or a gallon of that yet.

Send those pics! Send it to sixoh at yahoo.com
