I have a radio ghost in my 1999 f350 TD Super Duty. When I start the truck, the radio comes on but then I hear a click by the headlight / dimmer switch and the radio then shuts off. However, the clock does stay on at all times but only if the headlight switch is turned on.

I gave the headlight / dimmer switch a good smack and the radio came back on, but now (a few days later), only the clock works The unit has power because the clock works and the CD will eject, but no radio stations or CD tracks will play, only the clock (when the headlight switch is on). Any suggestions?

You might have a bad connection in your power distribution box under the dash. Pull and check the relay terminals in the panel. Somtimes windshield leaks have wiped out the fuse and relay connections, sometimes the pins actually fall back into the fuse panel and stop making contact after a while. Sounds like something simple when you can smack the dash to make it work, unless you are the "Fonz" .
