About how much does a new water pump for a '97 PowerStroke run? Thanks for the assistance!

I changed one about 6 months ago, if I remember right(its getting harder to do nowadays, what were we talking about oh yea) I think it was around 180 US dollars at I.H. dealer or about 350 at your friendly Ford dealer. Real easy to change.

 

Thanks for the information. I was quoted $900 from a national tire chain whom is infamous for shotty tires! (you know who I'm talking about) And about $400 from two local independent shops. Thank you for confirming those estimates! Have a great day.

Interesting..... the local International Harvester dealer here in San Diego will not touch a PSD. He told me to take my PSD to Ford. Fortunately, I have not had to have any work on done on my engine and I was just checking around. It would really make me mad to take my truck to Ford and get soaked for engine work!

Hopefully, I can find a good diesel shop in the San Diego, CA area.

Napa carries the water pump. I think I paid around 160.00 to 200.00 for a rebuilt one. It's been about three years ago and my memory ain't great so don't qoute me on the price.

 

Diesel Steve, IH wont work on a Ford truck. But they do sell us parts for the engine since it is their engine. They are almost always cheeper than any Ford dealer when it comes to parts too.
