Four speed

I bought a 4 speed T-98 out of a 57 truck for my 60. Everything looked good until I found on the left hand side 1/2 of the cast iron support for the reverse pivot ( I think thats what it is) has broke off. When I shift it in reverse the pin loosens. Is there a way to repair the break. It is part of the cast case. Thanks.

Not sure what you are talking about. Is it the pin holds the gear shifter? Or is it not a T98?

I've got a pair of T98s - one to keep and one to sell. What part of the case are you talking about? You mentioned the reverse, do you mean on the back of the case where the flat bar w/two bolts in it is? That holds the counter shaft and reverse idler shaft in place.

I checked the identification and it is a T-98 148 then it has a small number below that and says 0177. What I am talking about is on the left side of the cast iron case where the bracket for the transfer case shifter attaches. Below the back thread hole on mine there is a built up region that supports what I think is the pivot for the reverse shifter arm. Half of this built up area has broken away exposing one side of the pivot. What I can't figure out is according to the parts manual the plug supposed to be on this side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I am going to have to get another case or this can be fixed. Thanks for your help.
