My 5.0l started to knock on accel so i pulled it and found a spun rod bearing. replace all bearing and oil pump ludriplated bearing and prelube engine before startup . hooked up a manuel oil pressure gauge for good measure. started it up and the loud knock is gone but know i have a small knock at idle and accel.
I also plasigage the new baering all in spec. any ideas as to what i did wrong or what the other problem is ?? i never hered this knock before . i stoped the truck as soon as i hered the knock and towed it home. could the rod be toast or a piston pin?

 

did you have the rod resized? If not it is probably out of round as any time you have enough clearance to actually spin a bearing you have substantial wear and with the loss of oil pressure while the rod was knocking you probably did other damage .
