I recently purchased a 1996 F250 Power Stroke Diesel. I love it. I can't imagine how I could have been satisfied with anything else. The truck runs great but does shift hard and in some cases shifts later than I would expect. I was told that there is a computer update that corrects this. I have talked to one of my local Ford dealer's service dept. and I don't get the feeling they know what I am talking about. Is there a or several firmware updates for the computer?

Have the dealer look up TSB 97-06-29, it deals with harsh/delayed 2-3 upshifts. My 97 was doing similar things and reflashing it to the latest calibration helped a lot.
