312 question again

hi guys, after much searching i have finally found some imfo on this engine, i was not aware that the 312 was infact a merc motor, the books i have range over many years but only list engine prefix as shown on the compliance plate, the engine has C24B015C or G, the proper vin for the f100 is - F10C0R37641,is the engine cast nuber sufficient to identify or is there another number elsewhere. Down here all engines are stamped with a number, do they do that over there?,when i have purchased engines that have been imported from the US in the past, none had numbers stamped. cya..gary

That is a Canadian built motor and I dont have the ID for those, there are several Canadians on this forum so ask again with the emphasis on Canada.

BTW, I didnt think the Canadians used the 312.
