Just wanna know if most 5.0 mustang parts ( headers, manifolds etc...) will fit the 5.0 302 in a 1998 Explorer. Examples would rock.

 

Yes, most Mustang parts will work. The only ones that you will have problems with will be headers. Mustang headers are a very hard fit. Some people have posted saying they have done it, but I have yet to get any real proof and see how they did it.

The only thing you have to watch for are the years. Some of the Explorer parts are replaced by 89-93 parts (throttle body has to be modded a little), but the fuel pressure regulator is a 94+...

 

thanks alot, yeah thats the thing, i found sick headers on ebay for a mustang and i wanted to knwo before i bid if they would fit my engine. guess not. oh well. can you list some headers that would. i want that really ground shaking 89-93 cobra sound. would a Mac intake, headers, and a gibson super truck exhaust do it or should i go glasspack or stright pipe?

 

Unfortunately, you won't find any headers anymore. Every now and then, you see a set on EBay, but they end up going for a premium price - just because they are out of production. They were made by Ford Motorsport. There are a few people I know trying to custom fab some sets, but I don't know their status as of now...
