390 in a 53 ford f-i question

I have just been working a 390 into my 53 ford f-1 with a zigs mus 11 set up and was wondering about fit?? I have the motor set about 1 inch above the rack and about 1 1/2 above the cross with the mounts centering the cross. Then when I go to fit the cab on the frame in the proper mounting holes I am into the firewall about 3 inches?I cant move the motor forward do to the lower oil pan hitting the crossmember.Any solutions to this or help with divulging 390 problems in this perticular truck?? Thanks DJ

Is it a front sump oil pan? Where is the engine now located relative to the original engines location?(especially front to back) It is possible you will need to cut back the firewall.:-(
