390 or 352

I recently purchased a 56' F-100. They said it had a 390, how can I know for sure? The block ID number says it's a 1966 motor. There is a number on the front of the block (352).

Hi drcota, welcome to FTE!

The 352, 360, and 390 all share the same block. All 3 could have the "352" number cast into the front of the block.

I think one of the easiest way to tell for sure is to remove one of the plugs, and check the stroke.
