97 Powerstoke hard to start

Just changed the oil and fuel filter in my 97 stroke, started up after much intermittent cranking(to avoid burning the starter) Idled it for a while and reved it a few times sounded good. Shut it down and went to start it an hour later, took about twice as much cranking as it usually ever did. If you start it immediatly after shutdown, it starts up normally, if you wait awhile it takes lots of cranking. Air still in the system?? Would working it a bit maybe clear it up?? Just wondering if anyone else ran across this before. I idled the truck about 20 min total in the driveway, i figured that would purge everthing.

Wow Never heard of it But hey stuff happens. Did you change the oil in the HPOP? Take the Plug out of the top of the HPOP and make sure its full of oil. Even check it after letting it sit and see if its full. It could be draining back.

You mean the heui pump? I didn't know there was drain and fill holes there. Are they easy to see?

If it were me I would check the glow plug relay to make sure it's not going south. My truck did the same thing as you describe when it's GPR went out.
