You have to pick a different brand of truck.

Let's say you win a contest for a new truck. But you came in second. The first guy picks a Ford. That leaves you with Dodge, Chevy, Nissan and a Toyota. What do you pick?

I would go with chevy. I have one, and it does ok, just nothing compares to a superduty with a PSD. Dodge has had bad rap for tranny problems and i know they are "fixed", but i am still sceptical. Also parts are cheaper.

I'd hold my nose and pick the Chevy, which is better than picking my nose and holding a Chevy......I guess...

I'll get blasted for this one but I always had good luck with the older Dodges.I had a Ramcharger that would hold it's own in it's class.I also had a D-100 with 210,000 on it when I sold it,still running. The cars i didn't have such success.

Id take a Dodge, because I cannot fathom owning a bow tie. My uncles ram seems pretty decent.

If I came second place in a free truck contest, I would immediately pick the Dodge ONLY IF it had a Cummins in it.

I would then proceed to remove the Cummins engine and transmission, and sell the rest of the truck.

If the Dodge didn't have a diesel, I'd go for the Chev.

I'd take the Nissan, because I hear the dealers can't keep them on the lot. That would make it pretty easy to sell. Do we get a color choice .

Id have a hard choice between the dodge or the yota. Ive had several friends with yotas and they last forever it seems.

i picked dodge, my cousins is holding up pretty well to his lifestyle (horses and horsetrailers) of hauling his kids around and what not. i like the new 2500s, a guy at school has one, its sweet - only cause its lifted. thats not the only reason though, it look good i give him that. -wb

EASY and NOT SO EASY.

EASY in the sense that it would definately be either Dodge or GM- both are way heavier duty and better looking than those plastic Japanese trucks with their puny parts. (why no GMC option? It's alot more appealing than the Chev is with that ugly front end on it)
NOT SO EASY between the two. Diesel 4x4 or 4x2 would be Dodge.
Gasser with 4wd would be Dodge.
Gasser with 2wd would be GM - preferably that big block they've got.
Manual trans -either.
Auto trans- obviously the GM.

It depends on what the pickups are. If it is a 3/4 ton diesel, I would take the Dodge in a heartbeat. If it was a 1/2 ton, it would be a Chevy or Dodge. If it was a 3/4 ton with a big block, I would take the Chevy 496 over the Dodge V-10, although I think that the Dodge pickup is better besides the motor. if it was a little pickup, I would take a Toyota or Dakota. Really, I don't think it would matter if I got first place or not, I would probably not get a Ford, except maybe an F-150. Not trying to make anyone angry, just stating my opinion.

(Other B here)
I'd go with the Toyota, if it was a Tacoma TRD and not a Tundra. We already have a Ford and 2 old Chevys. Toyotas have a good resale value and they're better on gas than anything we currently own. I could sell it and buy a Ford Ranger, but I think I would keep the Toy. I just like them, and they have a good rep.

If the choice was for a Tundra, though, I'd get the new Chevy/GMC instead. I'd give it to my husband, and I'd get the Bronco full-time!
