I put over 700,000 on a 03 6.0. Best oil to use is a 100% synthetic, like the rotella t 7. Trust me on this one if you want to avoid injector problems like stickum run the synthetic and always dump in hot shot secret with it

 

I use Delo400 because it is cheapest around here and have not had stiction problems. I think changing on time and maintainence is the key.

I just bought a 2006 6.0 and want to change the oil. I'm confused about what oil to use. I know if I ask 10 people I will get 10 different answers. I live in South Georgia, right on the Georgia/Florida line. I'm new to diesel ownership, so an trying to learn, through this forum, what all I need to know. I'm pretty handy, but my only experience is on gassers.

From what I can gather, I need to make sure I get motorcraft filters (oil and fuel). Just need to figure out what oil to get. I don't know what has been used in the past.

 

Most use a Synthetic T-6 Rotella 5w/40 I switched and my truck seems to like it I know the Injects do. Always use a OEM or Raycor Oil filter and OEM Oil cap same thing with the Fuel filters, I use Stanadyne fuel treatment or Diesel Kleen , Howes is a good Product too
