Testing solenoid?

Any good way to test a solenoid? I heard about the screwdriver method between "s" terminal and solenoid output, but that does nothing for me.

Using the screw driver didn't work, use a heavy gauge wire. but leave the connector on. just back it off alittle or put it to the bolt on the terminal.
That should work. If not change the selenoid. There real cheap. I care a spare in the truck as they seem to go out alot.

You gotta stick the screwdriver between the battery side of the solenoid and the s terminal.
