Im wondering if anyione else gas tank makes air sounds when u take off cap ? is mine broken ? I get about 250 miles out of a full tank is that standard or do u think somthing is wrong?

P.S i have a 88 bronco 2, 2.9l v6,

I get no sound on my 86 BII. Since my display only registers 13 gallons and I have a 22 gallon tank, I can only tell you that in 13 gallons, I can go 170 miles. Dont know if that helps any.

My tank doesn't develop a lot of vacuum either.
How many gallons do you fill up with on 250 miles? I regularly get ~20 mpg. That's theoretically over 400 miles per tank. However, this time of year I notice that I fill up more frequently with less at each fill up because the gauge seems to sink quicker.

My gauge has never been right in 3 years. It is a 22 or 23 gallon tank, right? Every time I go to fill up when it says empty, it takes 13 gallons to 14 gallons. This truck has turned out to be nothing but a headache for me. We replaced the whole front end when we got it, we've fixed every part possible that could go out, and now we're getting lots of grinding or something in the front on stop, go and quick acceleration. I hate my truck.

i might do a test and put a gas can in the back and drive untill it dies thats the only real way to check about gas left
