what are the pros and cons of adding a 750cfm manual choke on the 460? the carb has some problems and i want to replace it before she goes, also, i've been wanting a manual choke and prefer it to an electric or a hot air choke....

it's already ordered from summit, so i guess i'll live with the consequenses....

I disagree. I'd say 750cfm is the minimum carb you'd want on a healthy 460 so you'll be fine. I prefer manual (or no) chokes anyways.

I would normally agree, but the man wants mileage, and a 600-650 will give him plenty of power up to around 5000 rpm.

Well, I'd argue that a 650 would strangle a healthy 460 before 5k but I can't disagree that it would give him better gas mileage.
Guess its a moot point since its on the way...

well damn, my engine is really healthy, and i actually put some thought into getting a 750 vs a 600,

i cant really get worse than i am now, so, whatever works i guess

i hope that everything goes well, and cant i just lean out the mixture, even on edelbrock's website it says that on 454 and 460c.i.d. it provides great fuel economy...... they better not be lying

I drive an 86 F250 4x4 with 3:55 gears C-6 Tranny and a 460 with a Holley Hi Pro 4160 600 CFM # 652 jets, 6.5 power valve, Edelbrock Performer intake, dual exh with Summit Turbo mufflers.
I get 10-13 MPG, 10 in town & 11-13 at 65 MPH on the road. The truck has 160,000 miles on it the tranny was rebuilt 40,000 miles ago.
