429 info

i picked up a429 today for 100 bucks need to know what i got and if it is a good one to build for 400 to 450 hp. also comp ratio, factory hp rating heres the casting #s block is d1ve. 8015aa head is dove-c intake is 4 dove-9425-b under this is f4 cj4 rods are c9ae 6210 hope you can help and thank you in advance

Sounds like a 70 429(possibly a 460?) Crank casting number will determine this, 10.5-1 compression factory rated at 360hp(gross). Shouldn't be too hard to make 400hp from it. D0VE heads are good castings to start with also. Block casting number is probably actually 6015-AA, rods are standard passenger car rods and will most likely do for you expected hp level (with a good resizing and ARP bolts)

are your specs the same on 71 as you said for the 70 ? also this comp ratio seems high for 91 oct gas ? not that i care if i have to i will yous racing fuel i want a good runner to turn 38 inch boggers

how do these stock intakes work if i use perf cam get rid of smog bumps and 2 inch open headers

Sorry to report, not well at all. The block is a '71, and 400 hp is super easy, as these engines will do it stock. Good cam, good intake(I recommend the Weiand Stealth), good carb, and headers, with mild port work to the heads, and your well over 500 streetable horsepower. Hope this helps.
