hello this is my first thread so all the help i get would be appreciated. i recently had my check engine light come on and went to autozone and had them test it for me. the error code that the computer gave me was P1537 Intake manifold runner control (bank1) stuck open. if anyone has previously had this problem any help would be invaluable. oh F150 4.2 v6 2wd xt cab if that helps any. thanks in advance for your help.

Hi and welcome to FTE
You intake should be a split induction manifold, which has 2 ports per cylinder. It sounds like the passengerside flap may not be closing. It is a vacuum operated solenoid that opens the second set of intake runners at about 3,500rpm at full throttle to give the engine extra air. They stay closed under normal driving to increase air velosity and increase low end torque.
I would make sure that all of the plugs in the area are plugged in and that the diaphram isn't pulled in while the truck is idling.
