New 04 Heritage Owner Here

Hi folks,

Just bought an Oxford White 04 Heritage STX. Pretty basic truck, but that's what we wanted.

Just a quick question. I want to pull my 03 Mach 1 with this truck. It has 3.55 gears in it and of course the 4.2 OHV V6. I had the class III hitch installed and am getting mixed emotions from sales people and service people about it's towing capacity. Car and trailer weighs between 5 and 5.5K. Other than a little under powered, will this truck tow the weight?

Want to make sure I don't burn up the 5 spd tranny.

Thoughts?

According to the Ford published specs you should be OK, although 5,500 lbs is pushing your luck. Change your fluids a little more often.
