16 inch rims fgor 76 ranchero

with a stock ride height you should be fine as long as you keep a low profile. I have 15 x 7 with 235/60s and I have lowered it almost 2" all the way around and there is no problems with drivability. 72-79 have some really big fender wells but if you made any suspension changes I would check the tire dimensions for the new rim size.

hey thanks for the info! thats what i was wanting to know. i'm going to run stock suspension, with 16 inch good year eagles once i get this 400 in. Boy have you ever removed a front fender there must be thirty bolts! and you literally have to take apart the front end to do it. anyway thanks for the reply oregon ranchero guy

do you think the 16's will look good or do you think the 15's would look better? anything but the 14's i got the front fenders off and cleaned and painted the frame and inner fenders. tomorrow i will get the engine in and start wiring. do you know if the fuse block for a 351 will fit the 400 wiring plugs? oregon ranchero guy

I think either would look good. its your prefference and budget saw a fastback mustang on tv this morning with 20" rims. thats crazy, but it looked good. I think you just dip the edges in rubber when you go this big.
all the wiring should match right up. the only thing I have seen vary is the oil pressure sender.

thanks for the advice. i just broke one of my engine mounts today so i can't get it in until i get new ones. aaaaahhhhhhh! but i did get some good news my fenders are only going to cost $200 to repair and prep and primer. it seems like one step forward one step back sometimes but hey when you got a thing for ranchero's its amazing the frustration you will put up with. I'll get some pictures taken and get a gallery going soon so you can see my basket case. oregon ranchero guy
