You know what, I educated myself a little more on the subject with a quick search and found little but have to say I agree with you now, I looked at it a couple of ways the one being the most basic was if it fires bank to bank then I looked at one firing order as compared to another and should you go either way both firing orders fired more cylinders on the 1234 bank first either firing order you used so changing to the 5678 bank being fuel injected first would help nothing, so my previous theory makes no sense at this point. I give now, do you know of a link that explains the ford efi systems more indepth, I guess it is time for me to get a better understanding, time to step out of the carbed world. IF you know of a link or book that would be great. Later

I got a lot of that just from the Haynes wiring diagrams, but there are a couple of good websites I will link to when I get back to school. The "banks" of injectors aren't the sides of the engine, which 'bank fire' tends to be a little misleading. Four injectors are grouped together, but they aren't all on one side of the engine. Injectors 5,4,2,6 are one group and 3,7,8,1 are the other group or 'batch' would be a better term. With either firing order the 4 injectors in each group are 4 cylinders sequentially in the firing order. I'll post some more when I get back to school...

That is interesting because the info I read said the bank was refering to 1234 and 5678 cylinders as individual banks. Looks like I need to learn asap I enjoy reading new info so by all means if you get the chance put the links up. Later

I tried to find the link I mentioned previously but could not find it. I am learning this much the batch fire or bank to bank systems are a no brainer as are the sefi systems yet I have yet to find anything referring to which group of cylinders/injectors are which bank. I also figured out mass air isn't all it is cracked up to be, it only allows room for idle as in more radical cams after that the computer takes over similar to the fuel maps of a batch fire or sefi, meaning you still have to program it, but it admitadly is easier to do without need of a chip manufactuers help. I think I am set other than the whole batch fire grouping. Later

Here are those websites:

http://www.austincc.edu/cloud/efi/eectch98.pdf

Some parts of that document don't agree with other things I've read, but it's good general information about Ford EEC's.

Ford Fuel Injection

That one is pretty good.

Hope these help you out. The actual computer processes are complicated, but how everything hooks up and how the computer uses the data is not as complicated.
