12 volt conversion alternator choices

Hello,
I read an article (on the internet, I think) about doing a 12 volt swap on a 6 volt y-block that referenced a particular alternator that worked well. Now I can't find the article. Does anyone know what the good choices are for alternator/bracket combinations for this swap? I am doing this swap in a 55 f 100.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff. The place to start is with a search of the forum using the words "one wire alternator". You'll get a dozen or so hits on threads. Several of those threads go through various options and alternator types. Once you read through those, all your questions may be answered. If not, come on back and fire away.
