Towing ability between a 302 VS 351W in 95 F150

I have a a 95F150(est. cab) 302/AODE and I'm looking for more towing ability. I'm almost certain that the truck has 3.55's (standard in Super Cab I believe).. First off does anyone know the HP/tq and at what rpms (mainly tq) they're at? Now I have acquired a 88/89 351 EFI engine from a truck.. What's the hp/tq and at what rpms are they at (351W). The 302 has 105k+ miles and makes a noise on start up that sounds an awful lot like a rod knock...Does the gas mileage differ from either one much..Since my 95 has the 351W firing order and it's Mass Air this shouldn't be a problem of a swap (I'm aware of the mechanical differences (exhaust, dist, oil pan, etc). Doesn't the 95 302 actually have a roller cam in it? Does anyone know the specs on it? Is it the same cam that's in the 302 stangs?

Now a question on the 351W swap..I have a set of GT-40P heads that I bought a couple years ago..How would one of these work on a 351? Think I'd lose any low speed torque? I'm aware of the funky header deal.

Has anyone ever performed this swap? Is there a noticable difference in towing ability from the additional tq offered by the Windsor?

Sorry for the length,

Gerald

---I've never done the swap personally, but I can tell you there is quite a difference in torque. Although your 95 302 has more torque than the 88 302 would have, the 302's are known to have lackluster torque, especially at low rpms, which you know. If you don't tow much, the added torque isn't really needed, but if you tow alot, the torque is a must. 40ft/lbs is alot. Since this is basically a simple swap, I say go for it. Is the 351 you have in decent shape? Another thing you might want to consider first is selling your 302 before you remove it. Let a buyer try it before buying it. It will off-set some costs.
