F150 and Titan
I'm overseas right now and can't really look at new trucks except on the internet. My next big purchase will be a new truck and I'm sure it will either be the 2004 F150 4x4 Lariet or the 2004 Nissan Titan LE. Crewcab or extended cab is still in question. Plan to buy one of them in the spring.
Has anyone actually looked at the Nissan Titan in person or driven it? I know this is a Ford website, but just wondering if anyone has done a fair comparision.
I personnaly don't care for the chrome bumper and the tailgate on the Titan, but the truck looks good on paper.

well.... nissan has been making V8s for awhile. Mainly for thier race cars, although I beleive the Infiniti SUV offers a 4.6L V8. Also, there is a Nissan SUV available in Europe with a V8.
I like nissan engines. The VQ35 V6 is regarded as one of the best engines in production. How that's decided I have no idea. I've never heard of problems with the them.
But I can understand your logic. I think one reason I'm considering the Titan is Nissan's reputation for quality. What I'm talking about is not just engines/transmission, but everything. What will drive me nuts is a 4-year old truck that starts having electrical problems and things like power windows or warning lights stop working correctly.
Last year I looked at about every truck out there. Liked the Dodge, but a bad Chrysler experience has left me weary. Almost bought a Silverado but hated the cheap plastic. Just didn't like the 03' F150 that much. The Tundra, No.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to actually look closely at the Titan. I heard today they won't be out until December, so it may be too early.

Wahoo,
I will be giving the Tundra another look since the new doublecab is supposed to be larger than ford's supercrew. I thought the Tundra was underpowered when I drove the '03 but with the additional cab room and toyota's general troublefree rep. I think I should consider it. It should compete head to head with the new f-150 well.

Nissan did their homework. Other than the only tranny being a 5-speed slushie! That blew their chance at me thinking of one....
I don't care if I own a Ford and am on a Ford related site....if someone like Nissan did homework, I'm taking notes. Hopefully, the other makers take even more copious notes!

The 5.4 and 6.8 are very well known for having piston slap issues. Short piston skirts that are less stable in the bores. Someone needs to tell the rocket scientists at Ford (and Chevy) that short skirts belong on pretty women. Not in engines. The Nissan is going to give the F-150 a run for the money imo.
