Be aware of heat....don't do this after running your truck b/c those lines go directly to your radiator, also it's under pressure so wait for the pressure to die down. I would let it sit overnight and do the swap early in the morning. Aslo, you will lose anitfreeze. so have a catch pan and some fresh antifreeze handy.
Start by going to the truck. On the passengers side under the glove box there will be a black box...open it, there will be several screws holding it in. When you pop that box off go and open the hood. On the passengers side in the engine compartment look for the 2 black hoses that should be identical in size running side by side into the cab....should be right close to your hood hinge. Take the two hoses off and your heater core should fall out. Reverse removal to install.

I found it easier to remove the glove box and attack the heater box that way.
also, remember to seal the heater box up pretty good. I found out the hard way why it needs to be done
I turned on the heater and a plastic grocery bag from wall mart made a funny noise then as I looked down at it it disappeared. It was sucked into the heater box. Well needless to say its still in there

if i remember right, the heater box is held in place by several bolts and/or nuts, and once they're removed, you can slide the whole heater box forward off the firewall and out from under the hood. it may also be necessary to remove the battery. once the heater box is out, its not hard to open it up and replace the core.
