217,000 on my 95 XLT AWD. Two tranny's though I blame the first one on myself for pulling a 26' 5000lb camper (120K). Even with a tranny cooler that's a bit much. Second one I blame on a bad rebuild or bad luck (180K). I've run Mobil 1 since day 1 and changed it every 5000 - 10000 miles (I try for 5000, but felt I needed to be honest).
I'm now chasing what I think is a burnt valve. Just pulled the intake manifold off and one of the runners looks pretty dry as compared to the others. The same head looks like its gotten hotter than the other one (oil residue). I'm thinking the burnt valve was causing that cylinder not to burn clean. This then caused the computer to lean out that bank causing a lean condition and excess heat in the other two cylinders. Make sense??????
197,000 on my 92 XLT Explorer 4.0 AOD. Second owner, bought it with 180,000 for $600 and the only things that don't work are, driver's seat forward-reverse electrics, (it goes up and down OK) and the heater fan only runs on HIGH.
well i would have 75,100 miles on mine but it got smashed on monday, right after i spent 200 to tune it up on that friday before. a damn shame, was a good truck and i loved it. i hate idiot drivers.
158K on my 1993 Explorer. Replaced Ball Joints, Shocks, Wheel Bearings Repacked, normal oil change every 3K miles, Occasional cleaning of the MAF Sensor.
