How do you open the fuel filler to pour an additive in ?

How do you open the fuel filler to pour an additive in ?

Tried a funnel - does it need to be metal maybe ?,
tried a screw driver to push it open, no joy....

Any ideas ?

Found the 'special' funnel...
had to almost disassemble the car to get to it

flip the rear seats up, unclip a lip along the inside at the rear of the hatch so I could get the spare tire cover out,
then found the little white funnel clipped to the under side of the spare tire tub...

Now that I know where it is, just sliding the spare tire cover to the right and I could reach in there and unclip it...

Spares are about 2 bucks at the Ford parts counter. I bought several. Keep them in the garage, etc.

They sell them at Kmart and most auto parts stores.
