Install & Review: Spyder Halo Projector Headlights

I bought the Spyder headlights with the LED Halo and projector, note, the projector is not LED, it's halogen.

The headlights look good, and I think it's a nice upgrade over stock. The Retrofit Source has a kit to replace the Spyder headlights one. The projector that comes with this is okay, but not of high quality, and it only fits a halogen H11 bulb, which is included. The retrofit option comes with HID which better match the LED Halo.

That said, overall, these are an upgrade over stock. The projection is still much better, and I'm not lighting up the crowns of 100ft trees like the stock housings.

The construction is by no means "high quality." The Halo is a simple plastic piece back lit by LEDs. However the housing itself is sturdy, and is protected against moisture by a warranty should there be any issues.

These are the headlights that I used: http://amzn.to/2nOcPRQ

I've got the factory HID's and just recently noticed they released a set that will re-use the factory HID setup which would be awesome.

I myself just ordered these:

Black 2013-2014 Ford F150 LED DRL Tube "D3S HID" Projector Headlights Headlamps

I was waiting to see if they made a set to fit the factory HID trucks. Used to be your only options for a black housing were FX4 projector headlights or tear apart the headlight and paint the inside. The OEM FX4 headlights were still kinda pricey and I didn't want to jerry rig headlights on my nice truck. That set now allows you to swap all the bits from the HID headlamps to the new headlamps. Nice thing is I can then sell my stock ones and recoup some money.
