Did you change the pig tail going into the IPR?

Even if it looks good there might be a short in the connector or the wiring itself. Also how's your oil level and hpop oil level?

the connector still looks brand new the wiring doesn't have any breaks or exposed wires. the HPOP oil level is about an inch from the top. and the oil level is good. currently we are checking the new IPR valve to see if it is bad but everything checks out.

Was the IPR a Motorcraft or a generic parts store ipr? Have you tried unpluggingvthe ICP and try to start it? Also check fuses just to make sure they are not blown. You Don't got the EBPV connector switched around with the IPR ? They are identical.

the IPR is the BWD burt warner one. we have unplugged the ICP and tried to start it, but it still just cranks and won't start. all the fuses in the cab as well as under the hood, including all relays are still working. none are blown. no none of the cables have been switched around. my dad has been a mechanic for over 40 years and this one has him stumped.

That mean the IPR is culprit I would suggest on buying a motorcraft or International part only.

With the aftermarket stuff sometimes new doesn't mean it works. If you have the original IPR you can rebuild it

we have the old IPR. we cleaned it out and tried it and it still won't crank. well burt warner is about the best you could get other than the dealer. but the dealer hasn't been able to fix it either.

You got a compatible scanner to see the vitals? This help narrow down the issue, also your old IPR could be damage.

IPR are not rebuildable. They can be cleaned but not rebuilt. I also would only put motorcraft sensors in, all of them!

we have cleaned the old IPR. checked the ohms of it and it gave us 11.4 ohms. inbetween the 5 and 20 ohm range. the new IPR gave us 12.8 ohms reading. all sensors checked that they are working properly. even checked the pin number 361 that goes to the IPR and it is good. right now dad is taking the pins out of the IPR connector to see if they may have been touching one another which would cause the IPR to not magnetize.

will give update shortly.
