Hi all, Im currently building a 64 F100 with a 390 out of a 66 galaxie. The original manifolds were leaking, so I would like to replace them with headers. Fitment seems to be an issue. Has anyone installed long tube headers on 64 with an FE??

 

I am looking for the same information for '64 F100 with a 460 big block. Anyone done long tube with that combo?

I know some prefer the long tubes, and the Sandersons are not, but they do fit well with room for the starter and not jacking up the engine or cutting frame components.

 

Patriot specific fit headers.
I have a 66 w/352, power steering, and C6 trans.
These fit great, no issues.

Do need to jack up the front of the motor off the perches by 1.5" or so.

asmith6 you think they will fit in this setup?

 

Here are a couple more of what I have to work around.

 

Looks like you will have way more clearance.
You can always purchase the headers and if they don't fit, send them back.
My 2 cents.

I'll be removing that rear cross-member under the firewall next. My 460 with the C6 attached will not fit thru that opening.
