I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue I am experiencing. My headliner in front of the sunroof has a nasty creak/squeak. This is worse when the sunroof is open, and seems to be caused by normal bumps in the road, and body flex. I notice when I drive over a rolled curb, like into my driveway. I wont even talk about the noise it makes off-road. I have had it to the dealer once, and they performed a TSB they have for the sunroof. It did not improve the problem. Need to try again with the dealer, but want a better idea of how to proceed. PS- Love this truck, and this seems to be my worst issue.

 

No problem at all with mine.

 

Same here, the only rattle I have is the receiver hitch I forget to remove.....and that's only every now and again.

 

maybe some silicone spray?

 

I think I will give the monkey's at the Ford garage one more go at it before I take matters into my own hands (silicone spray). Thanks pikapp for the idea though.

 

Our truck is quiet as a tomb. Occasionally I hear the safety chain extenders swinging back and forth when I forget to remove them from the receiver (if I have the window(s) down).

 

I'm beginning to get some wind noise (slight) from the drivers side window, but think its from the rain deflectors I added (weathertech). Don't recall hearing it before hand. Maybe I'll silicone spray the crap out of it too ....love that stuff, its like duct tape...handyman's secret tool

 

Following up with the dealer, and I will update everyone with the results.

 

Got the pick-up to the dealer today, and took one of thier techs for a ride. We went and mobbed around on a construction site, lots of squeaks and pops from the upper console/headliner area. The Tech said the noise was pretty "obvious" to him and had some ideas on how to fix it. Of course I was picking his brain every second I could about the problem. He said that the upper console fits into the headliner, and there isn't much up there other than a wiring harness that comes out of the pillar to the upper console. The panoramic roof motors and such must be elsewhere. I will leave it with them for a few days, and we will see what comes out of it. At this point I'm hopeful, mainly because someone else verified the noise, and I'm not completely crazy!

 

When my shade is closed it makes a rubbing noise that's kinda annoying so I leave it open. My drivers door panel just developed a rattle that drives me nuts

 

Dealership has done atleast two TSB's on the problem since they have had it. I believe the engineers at Ford have been involved. Something about cleaning and re-greasing the tracks, didn't work. They have had my pick up for 7 business days and 2 weekend days. Two days ago they ordered a complete panoramic roof assembly out of Sacramento. It arrived today and I am being told that tomorrow (day 10) it will be complete at close. I'm not very impressed to say the least, how ever if they do a good install, and it solves my issue, it might have all been worth it. Funny that Ford doesn't offer to make 1/3 of my truck payment this month, since I have been afoot. Anyway, to be continued.......

 

have them install a moon/sun roof from an Expedition. my 2006 Expy with moon roof was one of the best I've ever had, trouble free, no squeaks, tight seal, never leaked...was perfect.

 

No way will that fit these trucks.

 

I have the headliner/sunshade in the rear makes a noise. I have heard a noise by the drivers door. Anybody have the same?

Still don't have my truck, Monday will make 14 days! Wow Ford! They are set to replace the panoramic roof assembly. This will hopefully take care of the issue. Why doesn't Ford have garage's that can do warranty work, THAT are not dealerships. Just my opinion, but in general dealerships suck at taking care of issue's. Great at selling you the product, but not worth a crap at standing behind it.
