Here's my engine. Most of the really visible PA dust is gone--Still some in the corners and hard to reach places though:







We still have patches of snow on the ground, so I made my self imposed deadline for the engine clean-up. Driving around it will just get dirty again, so no sense getting too crazy.

ps The colors look a little off probably because of the lighting. The engine block matches the color of the intake even though the pic makes them appear quite different. The paint is Hirsch Lincoln Mercury Light-Green which is thought to be pretty close to the factory correct color. The valve cover is a custom mixed paint.

 

Slowly cleaning up wires and other things.

 

That big hot rod motor actually seems to fit in there pretty nicely.

 

Yeah it worked out really nice. No problems with steering or anything else.

 

Next project is to clean up the inner fenders and refresh the stickers.

 

You need one of the Aussie intakes for that .

Could you let me have a few closeup photos of your throttle and carb linkages, please? I'm trying to connect a similar setup.

 

Someday I'll get the hood back on the truck. Meanwhile it is much easier to work on it without the hood.
