Pulled my OEM wheel flares off yesterday
Noticed the two sided tape on one of my front OEM wheel flares was starting to come loose on the front corner. I was bored so I ended up pulling both front flares off to see what it looked like behind them since they've been on for four years.
I was relieved to find near perfect paint underneath. everything was covered in a light film of dirt but the paint was almost as good as new. The passenger side had some scratches in the clearcoat above the bumper. This was due to the drain hole not being big enough and it caused some small grains of gravel to get stuck between the flare and panel. I opened up the drain a bit to prevent the issue in the future. Drivers side was perfect.
I thought about pulling the rears off but as clean as the fronts were I don't know if it's worth it with the amount of time I invested in the fronts. It was a PITA getting all the tape residue off the parts so I could put fresh on.
