I have the frame completed on my 53 Ford F100 complete with a Fatman Front Suspension. I have been thinking about the engine trans combo lately and will likely go with a Gen3, 5.3L Chevy engine with the 4L60E transmission. My question is this: Does anyone know of a source for renting a mock engine and transmission assembly that could be used to determine proper location of the engine transmission mounts? Obviously it is much easier to work with plastic replicas is lieu of the real thing. Thanks in advance!

 

Hey Red Rascal.. I'm about at the same state as you regarding the motor mounts for my 5.3 LS in my 53 f100. I've got the CPP adj 5.3 mounts and the frame weld brackets on order. Sorry I can't help you more but lets stay in contact with our project status's..

 

Agreed. I think I have the exact same mounts coming. CPP has good stuff but they seem to be a bit slow on shipping.
