Sway Bar for F-1
Greetings all,
I have a 1950 Ford F-1 with a 302, C-4 and a 1970 Ford F-100 rear end. I want to install a rear sway bar but the one I got from CPP will not fit over the rear of the Ford 9 inch.
Has anyone found one that will fit without modifications?
A front sway bar would be preferred but no luck with finding one for a stock suspension. Any suggestions??
Thanks

I got the Heidt front sway bar through Summit, although it's for the Mustang II front end swap specifically, as I found out the hard way -- misunderstood the ad ... I think not without justification, though. But anyway, I got it to fit by making simple mounts to fit on the shock lower bolts, and having the ends bent an inch to the inside. I also got the rear sway bar kit from CPP -- my F1 (48) has a Dana 60 rear and it was a bit of a tussle to get it to fit and work, but it does, just. Have pic.s if you're interested, but I'm too pressed for time right now to hunt them up. There's a post here about it from me with the pictures if you want to try to search it, meanwhile I'll try to put them up again if you'd like, may take a day or two.

I also have the 9-inch axle in my 1949 F-1. Take a look at this sway bar from Performance On Line;
https://www.performanceonline.com/19...formance-Rear/
I roughly dry fit this to see if width and eyes ended up in the right place. Just like OneEye for his front sway bar, I did not read the description close enough. It is for a stock rear end. The hump in the bar goes over the top of the differential just fine. That clearance looks ok. I have not installed this yet, but it looks like the breather fitting and tube may be in the way. If not in the way, its going to be close, and maybe need some sort of 90 degree angle fitting to get the breather to clear.
