Oh yeah, the "Slick" stuff is new in their products (and a red flag IMHO). I'm sure their lawyers made sure the label says "fuel lubrication" (whatever that's supposed to mean), not "lubricity".

It's not new. "Slickdiesel" when I first started using it 15 years ago. Now I haven't used it in quite some time, but the reason I started using it wayback when is because it had a lubrication improvement factor.

I add a 1 quart of 2 stroke to 1 gallon of PS additive.

My buddy who is pretty familiar with my truck noticed that it was running quieter after I started using 2 stoke.

I got a smoking deal on some 2 stroke oil (10 gal for $70) so I will be using it for a while.... I don't use it 100% religiously but when I do, I still notice a difference.

Just my input. using the 2 stroke might not make a difference in lubricity but the "butt dyno" of how it runs will keep me using it.... Until my stock runs out anyway lol

Since we're kind of on the subject of Power Service, does anyone know the difference between the white and grey bottles? Other than one being called 'Diesel Fuel Supplement' and the other 'Diesel Kleen' they appear to be the same thing.

The white is the winter blend I'm pretty sure..

What Corey said. It has anti-gelling properties

Guess I never noticed that the 'Diesel Kleen' doesn't say 'Prevents Fuel Gelling.'

I just ordered 3 gallons of red line's diesel fuel catalyst since Jegs had them on sale for like $40 shipped. I'm not sure what it does in a powerstroke but it makes my mechanical injection bobcat, my 97 VW passat TDI, and i felt it made my IDI run smoother. I havent run full tanks with it yet to see if it improved any mileage, I cant really say it made a huge difference in idle of my powerstroke but it did seem to help with smoke on cold startup. Maybe a 50% reduction.

Cetane additive should help on startup if the winter blend is low in Cetane. I have only used two stroke oil in my IDI tractor and nothing else in past ten years even though factory says no additives needed with LSD.

I guess what I wonder is this. So an additive makes a truck run smoother? Does that mean the injectors were hanging up on regular diesel fuel? Does that mean the engine was not running at 100 percent? So should I get an additive from the factory on the first tank full of diesel? I guess I really think about it, it all starts to seem like a snake oil to me. Again, to each his own. I just found it pretty cool to talk to someone who is actually the guy that oversees diesel fuel refinement.

Possibly because it results in a better burn by changing the cetane value or maybe it breaks down the cohesion of the fuel and allows it to atomize better. I dunno. It's probably great for some engines, bad for others and does nothing to some.

Snake oil! I will hav my wife add 2 stroke and the other stuff to one tank and leave 2nd tank just regular fuel. with out telling me I will go drive and after a while swap tanks. one should be quieter. maybe ever record a short section driving the same speed from each tank to see if you can tell the difference.

This would be a good test. I can see legitimacy in raising the cetane values, but that's about it. I could be WAY off, but as far as lubricity, a lot of diesel stations have Bio-blend. That's the best lubrication that exists.

Got to agree with you there Byron, I've read a couple studies showing Bio the hands down numerical favorite in terms of lubricity..
