Disappointed in new 150's

Well, unfortunately, I have to agree. The outside of the truck is UGLY! The interior is SWEET though. IMHO, no amount of handling/driving makes up for a ugly vehicle. It has an Expedition front end and the only thing that looks like the F-250 is the doors. Oh, and that UGLY!!!!! F-150 logo on the tailgate.

I waited a LONG time to order a '04 F-150 BUT, after seeing it, I ordered a '04 F-250. It will look TONS better lifted w/ bigger wheels and tires than the '04 F-150.

Disappointed in new 150's

This is definitely the best looking half ton truck available. Not perfect, but as mentioned, I'm sure it will grow on most people.

Keep in mind, most trucks we're seeing are pretty much one-tone base XLT models.

When the loaded up ones start showing up on lots and people have a chance to adapt the change, I think this truck will be a great seller.

looked at a screww last night and would now definitely spring for the leather. The cloth looked real cheesey to me.

AAT - I don't get how they can claim seating for six. If it's wider
than the 03's, I don't see it. The back seems ok but the front bench center position is still very narrow. Think I'll still go superduty, yeah.

Love my truck

I remember when the measure of a truck was whether or not it could handle the jobs you needed it for!

Its only a truck after all. I like them so much I traded in my FX35 Infiniti. Which, in my opinion, is one of the best looking vehicles on the road. Funny thing is the F150 rides better and is more comfortable!

If you really honestly think you will need to seat 6 regularly the super duty is probably a better idea anyway. Hey they say my Expy can seat 9... LOL well its all advertising hype anyway. Who would buy a truck to haul 9 passengers everywhere when you could get a comfortable full sized van?

If you haven't noticed, but Ford uses that logo on all their vehicles. They don't want it to look like a F-250, The F-250 is Ford's ugliest vehicle. The 04' F-150 is the toughest looking F-150 Ford has built, 750,000 people can't be wrong!

Thumbs up

I wasn't really impressed the first time I saw a new F-150 on the dealer lot, but after driving by them for awhile, the look definitely grew on me and I ended up buying a 4X4 supercab Lariat. I love my truck! I think it looks great and drives great. Remember that looks are subjective, and what one might think is ugly someone else might think is beautiful. I have a few buddies with some ugly-a$$ed girlfriends that prove that theory.

I hear a lot of people say, "It's just a truck."

Well, it's just a $36,000 truck! If all I wanted to do is haul horse manure, I'd buy a used $1000 P.O.S..

However, for this price, this truck serves double-duty as a utility vehicle and a comfortable ferry for passengers, and I'm very happy with the comfort it provides. While it's not quick off the line, that's not a big deal for me. Can it pull out a tree stump if I need to? You bet!

Now do your buddies think their girlfriends are ugly and you think they are beautiful or vice versa?

Thumbs up New F-150

I have been looking at new full sized trucks for about 6 months. I looked at them all, GMC, Chevy, Dodge and I have really never been a Ford man. After looking atthe first 3, I decided to entertain myself and check out the new F-150. To my surprise, I really liked the truck, the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. The Dodges were too crude and plain inside, and out for that matter. The GMC and Chevy didn't have the same or as many features as the Ford. So I baught an 04 F-150 Lariat. 1500 miles now and I think it is a great looking truck. Just my opinion.

I've owned every body style Ford truck from '65 to '04. My 04' is the best fitting truck I've owned. It's true, you cant lay down in the front seat like my '79 but the 13" extra room behind the seat is the best thing since the tool boxes under the bed of my '72. The problem with the trucks of today is everyone wants one and nobody wants to drive one. They have forced manufactures to make a truck that drives like a car. If you want a truck that drives like a car buy an SUV that's why they created that class. I've only got 1500 miles on my '04 but I've already figured out it's advantages over the last model. I own a '00 and still think its the worst looking truck Ford ever produces but my wife loves it, so she drives it. I know the girl is better looking than the truck so she must be the reason it turn heads.

How about making this "The Reorganized forum of Christian Ford Owners".

Praise Ford!

You say THIS is not a pretty truck??? Oh my...you've got to be nuts. I think it's much classier and much better looking than any of the other makes. And no offense to pre-2004 F-150 owners, but even the reviewers that rated the new F-150 as the best complained that the old style F-150 looked too 'girly', to put it another way. It's all one's perspective though...but I think this new designed has much needed improvements to looks and performance. I love it

The only complaint I have about the 04 is the serious lack of ground clearance under the front bumber and lower A arms, also the power steering cooler needs to be moved to a safer place.
