1948-49 fuel line question

Sorry I'm posting too many questions but..
How necessary is it to use 1/4" fuel line??
I have 3/16" brake lines ready to go with fittings for fuel lines...is this an issue?

Are you running an electric or mechanical fuel pump? Stock engine?

Stock is 5/16". 1/4" is too small. 3/16" is the size of brake line.

1/4" is what everyone is selling? I wonder why?
I'll look for 5/16".
Thanks

It depends how you route it. My advice would be to start with that piece up where it connects to the flex hose, and possibly end up with a joint down along the frame. From that point you'll be able to measure exactly how much more you need.

72" may be enough on the flathead V8 but if you have the 226 I6, 72" will be too short if you run it in the original location. I had a 10' piece and only had about 18" left when I was done.

I ordered the 72" line for my flathead V8 and I will see how things work out before I buy more length which I may end up not needing. If so I'll joint it somewhere on the frame as
ALBUQ suggested above.
Thanks
