Since you guys are a better resource than the manual

Please tell me which safety system initiates the following action:

When going around a sandy corner on my dirt road (10-15 mph), the outside front wheel will often brake momentarily. At first, I didn't know what was happening because it happens so quick and feels like something is scrubbing. It seems more prone to happen if that outside tire travels through a dip in the road while cornering. My theory is that the outside tires speed up relative the others, and the system thinks the rear is coming around. I never see any indication on the dash, like when traction control activates.

As a side note, I only experienced this a couple of times on my 2012, but it happens a lot on the 2016. Maybe the system is more sensitive?

I think it's the stability control kicking in. Mine will do this also, even if I am not on the brake. I will see an icon flash, don't recall which one.

Sounds like your stability control is kicking in. Is the truck in, or close to entering, a skid?

Mine does it when I'm turning and a rear wheel hits a bump. Also, sometimes when I'm backing into my carport. Just a brief "grunting" sound. Nothing to worry about. Better that it's over-reactive than not.

Not skidding or close to it, but it's usually a bumpy corner, so the system might think it is. I'm never going very fast when it occurs.

Next time the mall parking lot is wet go out and try to sling the rear end around. I tried it back in 2010 when I got my first 2011 truck, it'll shock you.

I slide through (and not around) corners on ice too often... Luckily there is always some snow on the side of the road that stops me before the snow bank, ditch, another car, street sign, etc...

Otherwise, it is amazing on what it can do to keep you from doing a 360...

Next time look at the dash, I bet it's an orange icon on the bottom that looks like slippery when wet signs that flashes.

It's funny how, when it happens I am startled by it and never think to look at the dash until it's too late. I think I'll try to intentionally drift around one of these sandy corners and see what it does.

Mine does the same, does sound like a scrub too, with cornering and bumps I can replicate pretty easy. Stability control system
