How much is this IDI worth?
Hi, I'm new to this forum and really to the whole diesel world. The reason I joined is because I've found a 1994 F250 XLT Superduty 7.3 IDI turbo for sale and I'm very interested in it but to be honest I just don't know the value of it. He's asking 12,500 obo on it. He's added a lot of stuff to it so I'm going to add a screen shot of his description so I don't have to type it all back out. My question is if this is a good price or if it is to much and if so what would be a good offer on it? Thanks!

To me, it seems a bit high. But price is relative. It's important to know where you are. If this was in California, then IDK. But maybe a newly restored 1994 in the rust belt would be more valuable.
Ultimately, his rims are nice, but probably only adds 500 bucks to the price. New IP is $600. His tires add $1000. Glowshifts will fail in a few months so that's a wash. Straight pipe exhaust isn't really anything to brag about in terms of price.
It seems like a tired IDI (quarter million miles) with a lift kit and paint job. I'd say the base for a 250K 1994 IDI truck would be $3000. It doesn't say it's a 4x4 (which would give it another $1500 to the base price). The turbo gives it a little more value, but maybe $500.
So, $3500 + $500 rims + $600 IP + $1000 tires + $2000 paint job + 200 for batteries, does not add up to $17,000 "in the truck."
Is it a manual? Is it a 4x4? What's the boost performance? Injectors? etc etc etc?
I'd say it's worth about $6500 in a dry state, $7500 in a rust state. But hey, if the seller can get more for it, then the better to him.

Here is NADA for GA.
1994 Ford F250 Value | 3/4T Pickup Styleside Supercab XL Prices and Book Value
Thing to remember what he it into does not mean it worth that. if you are willing to pay what he is asking them to you the truck is worth it. If not the pass and find one that had the value you BV want to pay. Watch shows like Gas Monkey Garage or Barrett Jackson. I would love a new truck but I don't see 50 to 70 k in a truck

I'd say if you can talk him down to $5000-6000, then it's a good deal. I suppose NC probably has plenty of rust, so a clean looking truck would be nice. But that's about all this truck is bringing to the table. That and tires. He'll probably say the schnazzy rims add 50 horse.
My advice is find a different truck that has an owner with well documented maintenance. These trucks can last forever, if properly cared for.
