87 Bronco II project
I have a 1987 Bronco II 2.9L V6 Automatic that I bought as a project. It needs a ring gear (teeth broken or chipped) and the parking brake bracket below the driver door on the frame rail has come loose and the key can't be removed from the ignition nor can the key be rotated to the off/lock position.
I've drained the transmission fluid and noted some gray dust/sludge on the inside bottom of the pan. I'm guessing this is metal dust although I didn't see any shavings to speak of. I didn't find a magnet in the pan either so I'm wondeing whether this is to be found elsewhere?
I'm requesting a picture of the parking brake/cable bracket below the driver door on the frame rail. I don't see that in the Haynes manual I bought. This assembly was removed by someone who owned it before me and I have no idea what it should look like when properly attached.
I'm guessing I might need a new ignition but haven't removed that yet.
