Stu, here is a 53 F500 MH dump truck for your registry. I found it on the yesterdaystruck.com, in the Ford truck galleries. It is owned by Paul Richter from Maine.

Thanks Abe. Only thing is my archive has come to focus on the F-2, F-3, and early F-250s that have the same axles. In mid '53 M-H switched to the 6 x 7.25" pattern axle that I believe was shared with the F-350 M-Hs. My reason for the archive was to use the axle numbers to figure out how many were converted each year. It became apparent that the axles were installed in number order, so there was no cleaner way to reach the number done per year. Thanks for the pic, though.

The puzzle I'm trying to sort out now is the end of the single speed R3-4 and beginning of the two speed R32-4. I think they were sold side by side for much of 1951 and maybe into 1952. Stu

I wasn't sure how far your registry went into the 50's. Good luck with your new problem quest.

We gotta define the perimeters, or else! There's a guy (I'm thinking old guy) on local CL that is selling something like 62 mopar trucks. They are all in the blackberries and many up to the axles in mud. Some were pretty good once when he dragged them home. Just sayin'

Guys that haven't spent time in the Pacific Northwest might not fully appreciate what is meant by "all in the blackberries". Wild blackberries are invasive, and their thorns hurt. They line every path and surround everything that hasn't moved in a few months. I don't envy guys trying to rescue those mopars. We all have our hoarding tendencies, but that's ridiculous.

My quest for M-H axle info found its limit when I visited the M-H hoarder in WY. I asked the guy's wife why they had all the geese. She said they control the rattlesnakes. I didn't think I needed to crawl under that truck. Stu
