Another update. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I figure and progress forward is progress. It took some time and a lot of adjusting, grinding, cutting and bending. Also 3 attempts to get the final piece to fit right, but I got it.

It was a perfect day on Sunday. I had to take off in the afternoon to go visit some friends and have a couple of brews at the local Stone Cow Brewery, then a nice steak dinner at my friends house.

I'm hoping to get to move on to the floors soon. I don't want to rush things I want them to be right.

Dang Brian, that is some awesome metal work combined with good ole Yankee ingenuity! If you need a hand with anything let me know. I need a bumpside buddy. I don't know welding but I have a brain and two hands.

Thanks 72CC428, I might just take you up on that. I usually work 50 or 60 hrs weeks, which leaves little time except for Sundays, and every other Saturday. I figure if I keep focused and keep motivated, buying some parts here and there I should be done in less than 5 years

And love the homemade clamps! I bought a set from Eastwood that work pretty well.

Thanks "my Brother in Rust" I think LOL I figured I would start with the PITA stuff first, then move on to the easier things. There is going to be the rear cab support, that will be a Royal PITA. I will attack it after the cab mounts and floor pans.

I wish I would have known, I had a couple of extra pieces you might have been able to use. I had these pieces of off my orginal cab, thought they were in better shape, but not really. I think they got tossed, though. See, I need to stop throwing stuff away!

Surprisingly the driver side is OK. Passenger side is my problem child. Although the kick panel on the driver side will need some work.

Those kick panels are a PITA, since they are sandwiched between the floor and the door support. I was tempted to take the whole thing apart, but, that would have been a huge mess.

I know what you mean. I spent a lot of time pondering how it was put together. Most likely I will replace part of the center floor support of the kick panel and patch what needs to be repaired.

Hang in there with him Pat. I have "the faith" in Brian but you've Been There. I've never been there replacing rust but I can imagine one wrong cut can create a can of worms.
