New from Havasu
Hello
I'm new to this website and I am seeking advice. My wife and I currently have a '99 F250 with 7.3 and automatic. We pull a heavy 5th wheel and exceed the tow rating of the truck even though the power is fine. I am currently shopping for a used crew cab dually but have great concerns about the 6.0 and 6.4 with respect to their reliability and expense of repairs and/or expensive bullet proofing fixes.
I am seriously looking at the V10 option as the tow rating is close to that of the PSD and will do the job for me with less concern about reliability.
I realize the torque of the PSD will get me up hills faster but that is a small part of our RVing.
The Cummins (either 5.9 or 6.7) appears to be a better option than the PSD from what I have reasoned so far. Does anybody have concrete pros and cons between the PSD and Cummins?
I'd prefer Ford for the durability of its body and interior finish over the Dodge.
