front motor mounts: 52 L6

Here's what was left of the motor mounts I pulled off the truck:

I was able to find new/repro rubber pieces. I've come up with nothing on the dual diameter bolts & metal cups. If need be, I figure I can make the bolt, just be patient and use a bolt, grind it down and run the correct die over it. I assume the right diameter thrust washers are easy to figure out. That just leaves those metal cups with holes in them: do they need exact reproducing or can they be improvised. Anyone else run into this?

Thanks!

B9S-6039-A Lower cushion
8L-6038-B Upper cushion
2C-6047-A Bolt

The plate with slots is molded into the cushion, not separate

I think you'll find that the rubber upper (8L 6038-A) and lower (8L 6039-B or B9S 6039-A depending on which reference you believe) are molded to the metal pieces. The bolt is 2C 6047-A. Dennis Carpenter lists all three pieces.

Ross was quicker! Stu

Thanks Stu, the Carpenter site specifically lists that bolt only to 1951 but now I see it's the same part number so just grabbed them. I'll be putting in a motor in a few days!

That's one beautiful build you have doing there! What material is that for fuel line? Braided? It's a little blurry in the pic.

I gave up thinking I'd do the restoration to Dearborn standards so decided to sleeve the fuel and brake lines for fire and abrasion protection. Got the webbing from McMaster-Carr iirc. I tried to email you the pictures of the paint can but doubt they came through. So will attached them here. Stu

I bought that 6047 bolt from Dennis Carpenter, but what arrived it too short to use. It was in a kit labeled 32-51 and sure enough, it won't work in a 52!

1952 215 I-6 trucks / 1952 239 V8 trucks / 1952/53 254 I-6 trucks.

MCDONALD OBSOLETE PARTS in Rockport IN has 1 = 812-359-4965.

OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 2 = 229-686-5101.

Look at Ross' Ford truck parts catalog pic in post #2, maybe Carpenter sent you B-6047 for 1948/51 that is 7/16" -20 x 2.97" long.
