Steady 12V source from turn signal

Maybe this fits better in the AV forum - but here it goes.

I have a 1991 E350 Shuttle bus. I am installing side view mirror cameras along with my rear view camera (because I like techie stuff). I have the cameras, the splitters, the tft screen. What I didn't think of is I need a steady 12v to keep the camera activated and therefore the screen on while turning/changing lanes. Simply splicing into the turn signal light wiring produces a pulse, which is useless.

Ideas? Does the relay itself have a steady 12v feed when the stalk is selected left/right before heading to the light? If it does is it just minuscule miliamps and not enough power. I might be able to use a capacitor, but what size and will it be able to charge and release quick enough - a 12v voltage regulator might be needed downstream of the capacitor.

So, unless anyone has any ideas - would this set up work.....
splice 12v light wire--->dieode---->capacitor---->voltage regulator--->power into camera.

You will not be able to use the turnsignal to power the cameras. You need to run a 12v constant power wire to them. If you want them just to activate when the signal is activated, you could use a timer relay that will activate and send the constant power through, and will hold in as the turnsignal turns on and off. When you finally turn the signal off, the timer relay will finally time out and turn the camera off.

Here's a link to a timer relay. https://www.delcity.net/store/Time-D...elays/p_804415

Perfect thank you. I knew the answer was simpler than I thought. I also thought about a 555 Timer in this type of configuration 12V Delay Timer Switch Adjustable 0 to 10 Second with NE555 Oscillator BE | eBay

What are your thoughts. Or is it even simpler and I'll find 12VDC Steady at the stalk. I don't keep the bus at home, so I need to plan ahead so to speak.

Your relay looks like it's a delay on. I believe you are going to need a delay off relay. If you have signals already made into the rearview mirrors, you can pick up the turn signal voltage there, or in the kick panel if you want to keep all this out of the weather. You will need to get a fuse tap and get some key-on power from the fuse box, and run it up to the cameras via the timer relay.
