HELLO EVERYONE OUT HERE!IM NEW TO THE FORUM BUT NOT MY DIESEL..IM GOING TO TRY TO GIVE SOME MUCH NEEDED BACK GROUND ON MY RIG AND I KNOW IM GOING TO LEAVE SOME STUFF OUT BY ACCIDENT..PLEASE HEVE PATIENTS IN ME AND BTW I'VE SPENT HOURS ON THIS SITE THUMBING THROUGH THREAD AFTER THREAD NOTICING HOW AWESOME YOU GUYS ARE AT HELPING EACH OTHER..SO ENOUGH OF THE EGO BOOSTING NOW TO BUSINESS..
I HAVE A 95 E350 RV 24FOOT OUTDOOR IN SPECIAL WITH A 7.3 OBS..I BOUGHT IT 6 YEARS AGO WITH 106,000 I THINK..LOL..NEVERLESS THE SPEEDO BROKE 4 YEARS AGO AND LUCKLIY MY KENWOOD OVER THE ROAD GPS UNIT KEEPS TRACK OF OIL CHANGES AND MILES..SO IM AT A LITTLE UNDER 400,000 MILES..TRUCK HAS ALWAYS HAD A 3000 TO 4000 ROTELLA OR MOTORCRAFT CHANGE..I USE MOTORCRAFT BOOSTERS AND PRODUCTS BECAUSE I WORK AT A FORD DEALERSHIP IN DETROIT,MI AND GET STUFF AT COST(LET ME KNOW IF YOU GUYS NEED SOMETHING AND I'LL DO MY BEST TO HOOK THIS SITE UP,FOR BROWNIE POINTS!)AND IVE ALWAYS BOUGHT THE BEST..

I HAVE RECENTLY NOTICED A DECREASE IN BOOST(10-11 LBS ON THE NEW GAUGE I INSTALLED)I ALSO PUT IN A PYRO METER AND TRANS TEMP..I HAD TWO INJECTORS REPLACED THREE YEARS AGO AND ALL NEW SEALS ON THE OLD INJECTORS..I ALSO RECENTLY SHIMMED THE FUEL BOWL WITH THE BB TRICK,I ALSO DID THE 140 MOD..I HAVE A HOME MADE CONE STYLE AIR INTAKE MOD AND STRAIGHT 4' EXHAUST WITH 3' DOWNPIPE..I DID VALVE COVER GASKETS AND ONE BURNT PIGTAIL LAST YEAR..FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS INSTALLED LONG ENOUGH TO GET A 40ISH PSI FUEL PRESSURE READING BUT JUMPED AROUND TO MUCH TO LEAVE IT ON..I THINK THATS ABOUT IT..I CHECKED TURBO INLET WHEEL FOR DAMAGE AND IT LOOKED GOOD AND SPUN FREELY..WHEN DP WAS OFF CHECKED EXHAUST WHEEL AND AGAIN LOOKED FINE..I HAVE NO TS CHIP ALL STOCK, BUT I NOTICED THE TRUCK STARTS FINE AND IDLES GREAT EVEN WHEN COLD..IM STUCK BECAUSE ITS LOSEING POWER AND EGTS ARE AT ABOUT 1100 OR 1150 DURING A FULL 10 LB BOOST PULL ON THE FREE WAY..I HAUL A 25FT RACE TRAILER AND IM SCARED THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS THE TRUCK IS GOING TO RUN TERRIBLE AND HURT THE ENGINE..I JUST PUT THE EGT GAUGE ON LAST WEEK AND I MIGHT HAVE ALREADY FRIED A EXHAUST VALVE..THERE IS HARDLY NO BLOW BY AND THE MOTOR NEVER EATS OIL..

I LOOKED AT THE UP PIPES WHEN I HAD THE DOG HOUSE OFF LOOKING FOR BLACK MARKS AND ECT..I FOUND NOTHING..IT DOES SOUND LIKE A EXHAUST LEAK WHILE IM DRIVING BUT VERY FAINT..COLLECTOR AREA LOOKS GOOD,NO BROKING BOLTS ON MANIFOLDS,ECT..I ALSO RAN MY HAND AROUND THE GASKET AREA BEFORE IT GOT HOT TRYING TO FEEL FOR EXHAUST LEAKS..

I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO BE A WORK IN PROGRESS BUT I DONT WANT TO START THROWING MONEY AT IT WHEN I COULD BE SAVING FOR NEW PARTS..LOL..IS THERE A WAY TO PRESSURIZED THE EXHAUST SIDE TO FIND LEAKS MAY RUN A SMOKE MACHINE ON IT SOME HOW..IM ORDERING NEW INTAKE RUBBER HOSES FROM RIFF RAFF BECAUSE THEY ARE STOCK AND OLD BUT I WAS ALSO THINKING OF CHECKING IF THE INTAKE MANIFOLDS THEMSELVES ARE LEAKING..I HEARD THEY MAY START TO LEAK..IDK..THE MOTOR IS SO OLD WHERE TO START!!THE LOW BOOST AND HIGH EGT'S SCARE ME RIGHT NOW..

Check for leaks at the "Y" where it connects to the turbo, and both boots that connect it to the intake plenums. There is a square cut o-ring where it connects to the turbo. Make sure the intake plenums are sealed to the heads good and not leaking. Check the small hose that goes from the passenger side intake plenum to the MAP sensor. Sometimes they get clogged up. If all this is good, then unplug the MAP sensor and take it for a drive and see how it runs. If it runs better, then could be a bad MAP sensor.

If the MAP sensor is bad, unplugging it will set it to default. Usually a bad MAP will cause loss of power and boost, but not so much high EGTs, so it could be a long shot. Easy test though. Sounds more like you have boost leaks somewhere. You can make a boost leak tester out of a 3" PVC cap and a valve stem.

yes they can leak and reseal them after a really good cleaning with Motorcraft TA31 RTV Silicone Sealant
