Angry intermit problem with power locks

I'm looking for information concerning an intermit problem I'm having with my power door locks. Presently I've been having a problem where my power door locks will try to move either up or down but not lock or unlock the door.

I have not been able to isolate the exact cause to the problem because it seems to fix itself within a couple of hours and returns within a couple of days. The problem happens whether the engine is running or not.

I'd appreciate any information anyone may have or steps to trouble shoot before I start taking the dash apart. Following is the truck spec.:

2000 F150 V8 5.4
Extended Cab
60,000 miles

intermit problem with power locks

If the locks are "trying to move", then it would seem to eliminate electrical problems and indicate that there is mechanical weakness or binding. Can you locate the drag? Have the door panels been off? Sometimes they are replaced incorrectly.

I would check inside the doors before taking the dash apart.

intermit problem with power locks

probably the door actuators going bad...ford has a problem with them....they don't last real long. there have been several threads about these....sounds pretty easy to fix from the comments in the threads.
