Shifter mounted aux electrical switches...

I just getting ready to install a reverse camera that I want to turn on when ever I wish and not only when in reverse. As well as on board air and some LED off road lights. For some weird reason I hate putting holes on my dash for mounting things like switches. I did a quick search on flee bay and found this scooter handle bar mount switch. It's switched for head light, turn signals and a monetary switch originally uses for a horn. I'm thinking a few relays and this may work out really slick. All I had to do was shim down the hole from a 7/8" mounting hole to a 15mm with a piece of rubber.

I really like it and it is easy to flip a shifter mounted switch without having to fumble around. I had one of the old Jeep Cherokees, full size like the Wagoneer but with a 4.0 carbureted six banger, very underpowered and heavy. I rigged up a shifter switch (3 speed floor shifter) for the AC compressor so I could momentarily kill it when starting off from a light or climbing a freeway on ramp, worked great. By the time I got up to speed the air was just warming up to the point of unpleasantness. That was before the days of WOT compressor cutouts.

I ended up throwing a 304 in mine when the six cyl wore out. Wasn't a whole lot more power but helped. I always wanted a Chief but never got one.

Looks like the stick in a fighter cockpit. One button for guns...one for missiles.

check out RiffRaff diesel. RIFFRAFF FORD DIESEL PERFORMANCE PARTS
Clay offers great deals on the dashes and switch panels with anywhere from one to nine switches.
Riffraff Diesel Custom Auto Dash Kit
they also offer custom lettering for the switch faces

Clay was not offering his switch panel when i put my 650 dash in, so i made my own. and it did not come out near as good as the ones clay makes.

I notice that these are advertised for automatics... Wonder how close the shifter gets in the manual shift models? Thanks for the link!

sorry about that, i did not even think about the automatic manual trans difference.
for manual shift trucks he has a different lower dash.
Riffraff Diesel Custom Manual Dash Kit
shows only with 4 switches, but i am sure that at least one more can be added.

$320.00 plus switches is a bit rich for me to toggle a few off road lights. And I'm not willing to wait 4 to 6 weeks. Got to say it is a good lookin product though. Thanks again for the links.

I made/sourced my own for under $50. Just had to buy the gauges to go in it. Mine is for the standard as well. The dash piece itself is only about $35 from a dealership that sponsor this site. Then I bought paint to match and drilled my own holes, etc. Switches are even cheaper than gauges.
